To Marty Stacey and his family - I work with Marty at Suunto. I live in New Hampshire with my wife, and 3 adult sons, and I am Poppa to 7 grandchildren. I share these things in common with Carl, including my love and devotion for my family. Unlike Carl, however, I have never been a Champion of my golf course, and I guarantee that I couldn't play softball with a broken arm - I enjoyed those stories! I have shared with Marty that I too had a great Father, and in my opinion the greatest Dad ever. He took my brother and I fishing and hunting in Northern Maine as soon as we could walk. He passed in 1998 and I still think of him at least once every day. He told me when I was a teenager that he thought of his Dad at least once every day - his Father was born and raised in New Brunswick, and fought in WW1 in the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles in the trenches of France and Belgium. My Father taught me that as long as I had those memories of a good and loving Dad, I was very blessed compared to many. So I'll pass that on to you. Remember your Dad as a good and loving man, you were blessed to have him in your lives. |
