Dr LeRoy William Hall
August 30, 1933 - June 13, 2024
In his 91st year, LeRoy passed away peacefully in Hospice Prince Edward with his loving family by his side.
Predeceased by his parents Edith (Kingston) and Percy Hall, brother Arno and in childhood, brother Arthur Ernest.
Survived by loving wife of 67 years Maureen, sister Nelda (Cornwall), brother Boyd (Carol) (Newfoundland), sons David (Janet),
Donald (Cindy), Gordon (Gina), daughter Janet (David)
grandchildren Kyla (Derek), Nolan (Joelle), Hannah (David), Kathryn, Cassie, Maddie, Daniel, Alexandra,
Adam, and Edana, Great grandchildren Adalynne, Lennie and Emilia.
LeRoy was born August 30th, 1933 at home on the family farm he grew up on in Roebuck. He was educated in a one room,
one teacher schoolhouse to grade 8 in Spencerville, high school in Prescott and attended University at Queens where he graduated from
Queens Medicine May 1957. May 22nd, 1957 he married the love of his life nurse Janet Maureen Colterjohn. He did his postgrad in Ottawa, Kingston and Hamilton where son David (retired Alberta) was born. In 1958, he and family moved to Picton, Ontario where he opened his first General Practice. He joined the Kiwanis club, was President in 1964 and continued as an important part of the club for over 45 years. Over the years, the family grew Donald (retired Nova Scotia), Gordon (retired Belleville) and Janet (retired Kingston). The family lived on a 55-acre hobby farm just outside of Picton with horses and cattle at various times. He spent his summers going to horse shows, baling hay, enjoying the water sports on Consecon Lake, and every July 1st, attending the Kingston family reunion which started the year he was born, continues to this day (90+ years) and is the longest continuous running family reunion in Canada. His winters were filled with hockey starting when his sons were children and continued until Donald started playing for the Wellington Dukes and he became team doctor. He then continued as team doctor (his favorite hobby) for over 35 yrs, retiring on his 80th birthday. LeRoy was the Coroner for Prince Edward County for over 28 years, was Chief of Staff twice at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital as well as serving 4 years on the board of directors for the OMA. Over the years, he assisted with bringing many new doctors to the County. In 1987 he received a scholarship for ENT training. After over 30 years of General practice and the delivery of hundreds of babies, he retired
and continued with his ENT practice.
LeRoy loved to drive. He and Maureen drove an RV all over North America including a caravan trip to Mexico. LeRoy and Maureen loved to travel so much they purchased a travel agency. Cruises were the favorite way to travel. They travelled all over the world and even enjoyed a 79 day world cruise. During his later years he loved puzzling and his precious Toronto Blue Jays, Wellington Dukes
and his Toronto Maple Leafs.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 19th, 2024
at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Picton at 11:00am.
Friends are invited to gather with the family following the service from 12pm to 2pm at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to Hospice Prince Edward and the Loyalist Humane Society
or the charity of your choice.
