MICHAEL EDWARD BOUCHER
was welcomed into this world in Peterborough, ON on July 8th, 1957
along with twin sister, Michelle, to his late parents Omer and Loretta (nee Ryan).
He departed his earthly sojourn on Sunday, October 30th, 2022
at Hospice Prince Edward, Picton.
Michael was a consummate family man, always making sure those he loved were cared for.
Kindred spirit, best friend, supportive, cherished and devoted husband of 36 years to Michele (nee Armitage).
Beloved father to Hilary, the apple of his eye and source of great joy and inspiration.
Beloved brother to Pat (Roger Mallory), Marg (late Don Deyell), late Rick (John Walsh), Joe (Patti McQuade),
and his late twin sister Michelle (Fraser Mumford). Much loved son-in-law to Laverne Armitage (late Rose Mary McMurray)
and brother-in-law to Marjorie (Don Mock), Joanne (Jim Price), Kerry, Kevin (Parimeeta Shah) and Paul (Jennifer Robertson).
He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Michael’s work career with Purolator Courier Ltd. spanned 38.5 years beginning in July 1979 as a dock hand
and culminating with his welcome early retirement as Chief Operating Officer in December 2017.
Throughout his time there he was a well-respected leader, teacher and mentor to many from coast-to-coast,
leaving an indelible mark and enduring friendships. Following his time with Purolator he took great pleasure in his time
and travel as a consultant with GLS in 2021. He retired to Prince Edward County, building his dream home on 12 acres in Bloomfield, ON where he spent many pleasant hours out on his John Deere tractor, fertilizing, seeding and mowing the lawn and snowblowing in the winter.
With his brilliant and inquisitive mind, he was an astute problem solver with a love of learning. An avid reader, lover of nature, music,
star-gazer, occasional fisherman, sports enthusiast, with a voice worthy of radio, great sense of humour,
but most especially, a generous and caring family man.
Hilary and I deeply appreciate the outstanding care Michael received while in the care of the staff at Hospice Prince Edward
and the great compassion shown to us and all of his family and friends who visited.
As per Michael’s wishes cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date.
