In memory of: Gary Walsh
Message: My deepest sympathies to Ellen and family. Gary has always had a very special place in my heart and I am literally where I am today, still serving at Pearce Church, because of him, I will never forget when he came to Raleigh, North Carolina to talk with me about moving to North Chili, NY and serving in Children's Ministries at Pearce. I picked him up and we went to a buffet breakfast. He was following me in the buffet line and I put grits on my plate. He let out that wonderful laugh of his and teased me about "choosing" to get grits, which immediately put me at ease as we bantered back and forth about girts!! He gave me a hard time about that many times, even when I would see him after he left Pearce. I learned so much about ministry from Gary during the years I worked with him at Pearce and will forever be grateful to him for trusting in God's plan and giving me, a young woman right out of seminary with little to no real experience in full-time ministry, the opportunity to learn and grow in ministry. You are all in my prayers as you walk through these difficult days.

With Love,
Lydia Monroe

Message: Dear Helen and family,

I was shocked and saddened to read of Gary’s death in St Andrews newsletter this morning. Please accept my sincere condolences. Gary was a fine man, one whom I deeply respected. I will always treasure the comments he made on one of my sermons at St Andrews. Thank God we know he is with the Lord he served so well. May our God enfold you in comfort and hope as you grieve over Gary’s death.

Message: On behalf of my Mum and Dad, Tom and Al, Ralph and I, we wish to extend our deepest condolences at the passing of Gary. There are so many memories which we cherish both in Brantford and then again at Roberts. He was a kind, gentle, rock. A pastor above all pastors, full of mercy and grace, a passionate Christ follower and was the best preacher a church could ask for, that is the Pastor Walsh I will remember. He was a brilliant man, but better yet a cherished, much loved friend to the Kerrs. Our prayers go out to Ellen and the boys and to all the extended family. May the God of all comfort come alongside and make his presence known and fill you with his Shalom peace.

Message: We send our love and profound sympathies to you Ellen, John, Charles, and James and to all the members of your families. It was a distinct honour to serve under Gary’s leadership and to play a supportive role as he brought strategic change to the FMCIC. As a minister of the Gospel, he expounded God’s word faithfully and effectively. He was a statesman and gentleman and always conducted himself with a sense of decorum. From the time that I, as a teen, became aware of him as a member of LPC’s Heralds of Christ quartet and then as one of the original Volunteers in Service Abroad, I admired him. When I was entrusted with leadership responsibility, Gary was a trusted and readily available mentor and a consistent source of encouragement. Donna and I will never forget his kindness to us.
We pray that the God of all comfort will minister to you deeply in this time of pain and sorrow.
Sincerely in Christ Jesus our Lord,
Keith and Donna Elford
