ANDREW BOBAS
Andrew Bobas was born in Shipley England, on 16th August, 1949,
and died in Wellington Ontario on 20th December, 2023.
Andy was a loving and devoted partner to Elizabeth Hay for nearly 50 years,
a caring, committed, and inspirational father to Nicholai (Sarah) and Sarah (Al),
and adored grandfather to Annika, Norah, and Scout.
He was an engineer, a wood-worker, a music-lover, a very clever wordsmith,
and a familiar presence in his canoe on Clear Lake in Dunany.
Andy will be remembered for being a witty, gentle, exceptionally generous, genius.
He was a very fine man. He will be missed terribly, but his curious spirit and rich mind live on
through his family and everyone he ever met.
Donations to uOttawa Brain & Mind Research Institute, or Médecins Sans Frontières are welcomed.
A celebration of Andy’s life will be held in Ottawa on December 30, 2023 from 1:00-4:00pm
at Parlour, 1319 Wellington Street West.
Andy always signed off his emails with this challenging question, which can always bear repeating,
“on a scale of 1 to 10, what is your favourite colour of the alphabet?”
