RICK GORUS … aka Mr. Diva …
Passed away peacefully on
Wednesday, January 24th, 2024 in Hospice Quinte
at 79 years old.
Rick was born in Germany to George & Charlotte. They moved to Belgium soon after and for Rick,
Belgium was his ancestry, a fact of which he was most proud.
He later made roots in The County where he and his late wife Celine made a home for over 25 years.
They were so proud to be part of this community surrounded by loving friends, family and their livelihood.
He is survived by His three brothers, Warren, Walter and Peter, his wife Evelyn and their boys Brad, Brent and Bryan.
His daughter Michelle, her husband Joseph & their girls Sacha & Chloe and his son Jason, his partner Edit & their boys Escher & Vaughan.
Rick was an extraordinarily talented artist and designer and left an indelible imprint on everyone he knew and everything he touched.
He was generous with the gifts of his passionate eye for art and seeing beauty in all things. He was an avid traveller, a collector,
a voracious reader and a true renaissance man. His stories told with his humorous flair would captivate the listener and turn
sunsets to sunrises on many occasions. And of course, his incredible legacy of imagining and then creating the most
stunningly aesthetic spaces possible.
He will be forever loved and so greatly missed !!
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 1st at 1:30 p.m.
at Bloomfield United Church, 272 Main Street, Bloomfield followed by a reception.
