Houlding, Marjorie Dale

Marjorie ‘Dale’ Houlding (Steenburgh)
November 6th, 1942 to December 11th, 2024

Quietly with family close by
Marjorie ‘Dale’ Houlding (Steenburgh)
passed away Wednesday, December 11th, 2024 in Picton during her 83rd year.

Born and raised in ‘The County’, Dale started life on the family farm in Cherry Valley, and after a short time away for some nursing training, returned to become a lifelong resident. A highschool classmate once remarked that Dale was the most beautiful girl in
Prince Edward County. She adored spending time with children and cuddling babies, would never turn down a babysitting opportunity,
and introduced and ran a summer daycare from Hyatt’s Canning factory as a young woman. She served the community of Picton as
a cashier, and most notably was a staple for years at the local IGA, and Giant Tiger until retirement. She became known, from this customer service role, by many Picton and County residents as a friend.

Cherished daughter of the late Clayton & Marjorie Vader. Caring mother of Scott Houlding, and Tracy Bowden (Tim).
Enamoured G-Ma of Spencer. Loved sister of the late Roger Steenburgh (Dorothy), Valerie Botts (Paul),
and the late Jeff Vader (late Debbie). Beloved Granny Dale to Becka and Enid.
Dale will be fondly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, and community members.

The family would like to offer thanks to MLP for their care and concern for Dale in her last years.
She didn’t want a service; she wanted a party!
As per Dale’s wishes her bash will be held on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at the Allisonville Hall at 7:00 p.m.
