Nelson, Gena

In Loving Memory of 
Gena Faye Nelson

July 22, 1936 - September 4, 2024

The Nelson Family is saddened to announce the passing of Gena Faye Nelson.  
Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother.
She passed away peacefully at Hallowell House Long Term Care Facility in Picton. 

Gena is survived by her devoted husband Gordon.
She is lovingly remembered by her children Rick, David (Lisa) & Mark and Jennifer (Ken Johnston).
She was a wonderful grandma to Christine, Pamela, Kara and Jordan, Jesse & Dustin.
She was a precious Nanny to her great grandchildren. 

Gena is predeceased by her parents Ed & Mabel Bailey and siblings Phyllis, Ronnie and Barbara
and is survived by sisters Margaret and Beverley.

Gena grew up in Wellington and spent much of her summers on her grandparent’s farm in New Carlow.
Gena was the secretary at CML Snider School in Wellington for close to 30 years where she was adored by students & staff.
She was a lifelong member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Wellington. She was a sweet and kind person who loved
spending time with her family.  She will be fondly remembered for her passion for baking chocolate chip cookies.

Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Hallowell House for their excellent care.

Family and friends will gather at the
Ainsworth Funeral Home, 288 Noxon Avenue,Wellington, ON
on Thursday, September 12th from 1-3 p.m. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 13th at 11:00 a.m.
at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Wellington.
A luncheon will immediately follow the service followed by interment at Wellington Cemetery.
