Giles, Leone

LEONE GRACE GILES
(nee McLean)

In her 100th year,
Leone passed away peacefully in the early hours of June 1
st, 2024,
at Hospice Prince Edward with family by her side.
Reunited in Heaven with her husband Roland (1997) and daughter Mary-Lou (1943),
Leone is survived by her daughters Barbara-Anne Bouclair (predeceased by Glen 2020) and Kandy Welsh (Richard Watcher)
as well as her son John (Anne Robinson). Leone was a loving Nana to 9 grandchildren, Violet (John Oreto),
Valerie (Walter Saunders) Arielle Welsh (her dad and friend to Nan, Dan Welsh)
and the Giles boys, John (Ril), James (Katherine), Jason (Stephanie),
Jeffrey (Anna-Jo), Jordan (Robin) and William.
Leone is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Leone was born in Debert, Nova Scotia and was the last surviving child of Marvin and Mary McLean.
With her husband in the RCAF, Leone traveled throughout the world, eventually settling in Sandhurst, Ontario,
where she and Roland built their retirement family home. Leone has long been the rock of the family, always up and out,
and living life to the fullest. She loved the water, adored getting out to family events
and even had a place in her heart for
the occasional red sports car. An avid dancer, she graced the dance floor into her ninety-nineth year and is now dancing with the angels. Her family was truly blessed to have her for so long, and she will be missed dearly.

Per her wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service however at a date yet to be determined,
family will join together for a small celebration of life when Leone's ashes are joined with Roland's in Wentworth, NovaScotia.
