EARL FREDERICK ROOT
MAY 28TH, 1935 – MAY 31ST, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Earl Frederick Root
on Friday May 31st, 2024, in his 90th year, at Belleville General Hospital.
Beloved husband of Minnie Root (McIntyre) of 62 years. Loving father of Betty (Dan) Cole of Corbyville,
and Brenda (Mike) Root of Rossmore. Cherished grandfather to Grant Cole, Tristan Carroll and Brayden Carroll.
Earl is predeceased by his parents John and Edith Root, and brothers Frank (Pearl), Leonard (Jean) and Don.
Earl is survived by sister inlaw Fern Root. Earl will be lovingly remembered by many other family members including
nieces and nephews, along with friends and neighbours.
Earl was born on a farm on Consecon Lake. He worked at CFB Trenton Air Base for 30 years while running his
dairy farm with his wife Minnie in Hillier. He loved to hunt in his younger years, antique cars, reading, visiting
with friends and family, playing cards and he was known to be a huge fan of professional wrestling.
The family would like to thank the staff on Quinte 6 and Sills 4 at Belleville General Hospital,
as well as Paramed nursing and PSW support.
Special thank you to Faith Bartlett for all of her help and support to both Earl & Minnie.
Visitation will take place at Ainsworth Funeral Home,
288 Noxon Avenue Wellington
on Thursday June 6th from 6pm to 8pm.
A celebration of life to be held at the Wellington United Church, 243 Main Street Wellington
on Friday June 7th at 11am.
A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the Elks Hall in Allisonville.
A private internment to take place at the Elmwood Cemetery later that day.
