Edwards, Sandra

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of
Sandra Ann Edwards
(nee Wood)

Following a brief illness, Sandra left us peacefully from Kingston General Hospital
on May 23rd, 2024, at the age of 81.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Bill Edwards,
and her daughters, Patricia Edwards (Bruce Pollard) and Shelley Heintz (Kenny).

She will be greatly missed by her brother Don Wood and sister-in-law Kate of St. Ola,
her brother Ron Wood of Bancroft, and her sister-in-law Deb Edwards of Caledonia.

Sandra was pre-deceased by her brother, Jim Wood of St. Ola, and brother-in-law, Don Edwards of Caledonia.
Sandra derived incredible joy from her nieces and nephews and their children. In lieu of her own grandchildren,
she embraced the antics of her granddogs and grandcats.

A proud graduate of the Peterborough Civic Registered Nursing program, she was a dedicated and respected pillar of the
Emergency Department and Urology Clinic at the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital for over 35 years.

Sandra and Bill made their home in Picton 50 years ago, where they raised their two beautiful daughters.
In The County, Sandra was able to cultivate her interests in cooking, gardening, reading, the arts, travel…and the odd glass of wine!
The strength of the relationships they forged with neighbours and friends throughout The County truly made this place home.

Spending time at St. Ola Lake was one of Sandra’s greatest joys, where the haunting sound of a loon call
and the slap of a cabin screen door were the melodies of her ‘Happy Place’.

The Woodpile and the Edwards Clan will miss her dearly.

Details of the celebration of Sandra’s life will follow at a later date.
