Beatrice Ellen Bollinger Lotz,
89 years, of Toronto,
passed away on July 4, 2023 of natural causes.
Bea Lotz was born in 1934, to Valmai and Henry Bollinger,
in a small corner of Elizabeth, N.J.
She was raised by a mixed assortment of relatives including a Welsh Grandfather who was a former
one room school teacher, poet and founder of a Shakespearean Theatre Group in rural Pennsylvania,
a school principal aunt who was "liberated" before the term was coined and a poet mother.
These influences resulted in Bea's many creative careers in theatre, art and writing.
Her proudest achievement however has been that of wife and mother which was reflected
in much of the verse she wrote;
"Children are the poems of their parents, they sing our songs long after we're gone." Bea Lotz~
Married to her beloved Dieter (2013) in 1961, they celebrated 52 years of marriage and had four children together;
Mafanway (Gaetan), Eric (Sherry-Ann), Isaac (Kerry) and April (Vince)
and celebrated the joy of seven granddaughters; Valentine (Philip), Caterina, Bronwyn (2015), Morgan, Torin, Tara and Mahalia.
In 1991 Bea and Dieter retired to Wellington and spent their days creating art for various art shows in the County
and writing poetry for The Wellington Times.
Beatrice will be deeply missed.
Funeral Service will be held at the
Ainsworth Funeral Home, 288 Noxon Avenue, Wellington
on July 11, 2023 at 11:00am.
Interment Wellington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Canadian Stage,
a non-profit contemporary performing arts company based in Toronto.
