Lillian “Mickey” Dimarco
1930 - 2022
Passed away peacefully at the John M Parrott Center, Napanee,
In the loving presence of her daughter Deb.
Born in Toronto, into the Great Depression Era, times were tough, especially as the youngest of 4 in her family.
She told stories of getting the hand-me-downs, having to “make do” with shoes that had to have the backs cut
when her feet grew too big. Of begging for bones from the local butcher, for the dog they didn’t have,
and of scavenging coal at the edges of the local coal yard to help heat their home.
Mickey grew into a beautiful, strong, vibrant, smart woman who later had to raise 2 young children on her own,
at a time when women couldn’t even get credit or buy a house, yes in Canada!
She worked very hard and provided a good and loving home. She was a “super-mom” before that was a thing.
Her capacity to love us shone from her face with the biggest smile,
and will always be our fondest remembrance of a great mom.
Mickey will be forever remembered by her daughter Deb, husband Steve Izumi
son Dan Dimarco, wife Debbie and twin Grandsons, Chris Dimarco, wife Kristi and Tony Dimarco, wife Stephanie
as well as Great Grandson Easton.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.
