Soucie, John

JACK SOUCIE
October 2-1941 - September 6-2019

“Happiness is spiritual born of truth and love. It is unselfish; therefore it cannot exist alone, but requires all mankind to share it”.
- Mary Baker Eddy

The family of Jack Soucie are heartbroken to announce his passing on the morning of
September 6-2019 in Picton Ontario at Hospice Prince Edward.

Jack recently moved from his lifelong home in Carleton County New Brunswick to a lovely new house in Wellington on the Lake,
a retirement community with his wife, Lorraine. In the very short time he lived here, he endeared himself to many,
just by being Jack and helping whenever he could.

Jack had an extraordinary musical talent, a heart for helping, and a lifelong interest in spirituality.
He is also being remembered by entire communities who have shared memories of his willingness to mentor,
his intellectual curiosity and ever-present sense of humour.

Jack leaves behind his wife of 42 years Lorraine, son Jeremiah Soucie MBA (Sarah Waterston MD),
granddaughters Elspeth and Meredith Soucie, daughter Riva Binks PhD (Adam Amos- Binks PhD),
grand-son Landon and granddaughter August Grace, sister-in-law Florence Young (Ouellette), nephew James Young,
brother in law Lawrence Ouellette and uncle and aunt Pete and Doris Mockler.

He was predeceased by his precious little boy John Lane, his mother Berdina LeBlanc (Mockler),
step-father Henry LeBlanc, mother and father in law, Geraldine and Phillip Ouellette, nephew Billy Jack Young,
and Megan his black Labrador and cherished friend.

We are beyond blessed that Jack’s final hours on earth were spent in the gentle and expert care of Hospice Prince Edward.
Donations in his honour will be gratefully accepted at hospiceprinceedward.ca.

A Celebration of Jack’ life will be held on
Sunday, October 27th from 2-4 p.m
at the Wellington on the Lake Rec Centre, Wellington, ON
