LAWRENCE LOUIS PERO
Born in Thunder Bay, Ontario on August 24, 1942
Larry passed peacefully at PEC Memorial Hospital in Picton, ON
on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019
in his 77th year.
Father of Rick, Mike (Simone) and Lianne.
‘Poppy’ to James, Cameron, Ty, Tara, Cadence, Hunter and Carter.
Sibling to Linda, Donna, Judy and Rob.
Predeceased by his father Jimmy and his mother Jean.
Larry’s passion for the game of hockey brought him to Picton via his home town at the age of 16.
As a key player for some strong Picton Junior and Intermediate hockey teams he earned the nickname
‘Pocket Rocket’ for his stature and ability. Larry enjoyed his varying coaching roles of minor, junior, and intermediate hockey teams
and always shared fond memories of teammates, players, and the teams he was involved with.
He also had a strong passion for golf, fitness, gardening, and music and they were a big part of his life.
Larry spent 8 years working at PEC Memorial Hospital prior to his employment at what is known today as
Lehigh Cement Company retiring after more than 40 years of service.
Larry will be remembered as a passionate man with a determined effort and steadfast will.
The family offers special thanks to his close friends and the many healthcare professionals
for the exceptional care and support provided.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice in Larry’s memory would be appreciated.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life at a later date
and look forward to sharing memories and stories with family and friends.
