Kees Kort |

I had the honour, and it was an honour, to practise law with Kees for 26 years, first at Templeman Brady and then at Hicks Morley. He was my mentor, friend and partner. Many have already commented on his humanity in relation to those with whom he dealt, powerful or weak, rich or poor. He was completely unpretentious and humble, despite his significant intelligence and success as a lawyer. It is noteworthy, but not surprising, that some of the remembrances on this site come from opposing counsel and union representatives. He adored his family, Diane and the three boys. He made a tremendous contribution to labour law in Eastern Ontario and provincially. It is comforting to know that he is at peace with Diane forever. We will miss him. |
