Name: Wilma Kelley
In memory of: Gary Walsh
Message: Dearest Ellen and family, How my heart breaks for you as you are faced with the sudden loss of Pastor Walsh. He was our favourite pastor, as you both ministered to me and my family in our time of deepest need in life. His legacy of love for God, life of integrity and truth, and showing God's grace as a true shepherd to our church family will always be a treasured memory for us. A message he gave at Pearce on 3/13/1988 titled "Discovering God's Grace For Life's Storms" was a lifeline for us, and I just listened to it again. This message still rings true today. I am praying that our God of infinite grace will hold you in His arms, and minister His peace in this intense storm of life. Lifting each of you to the Heavenly Father.
With love and deep sympathy, Wilma Kelley

Message: Ellen and Family,

Our deepest condolences to Ellen and the family. Unfortunately, we only knew Gary for a short time, but it was long enough to know what a kind, compassionate and caring man he was, and what good fortune it was to become your neighbor.
Warmest regards,
Penny, Angela and Christie

In memory of: Gary Walsh
Message: Dale and I were so saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Gary. We enjoyed our many times together through his time as President of Opportunity International Canada and we remember fondly a trip to Colombia we had with he and Ellen. It was always with pride that we watched him present at various meetings and fund-raising events as he spoke with a sincerity and personal connection to the cause of assisting those living in poverty. We remember as well, the fun times we had together and that wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at the Walsh condo!
It was a privilege to attend the celebration of Gary's life on Friday and hear not only of the respect his colleagues had for his professional stature, but also to witness the great reciprocal love of family - he and Ellen's great connection with children and grandchildren.

Ellen, our hearts and prayers go out to you and we pray that God's great peace will sustain you, support you, encourage you and carry you forward. love from Dale & Joan

Name: David & Avis Barnes
In memory of: Rev. Gary Walsh
Message: Our hearts were deeply saddened when we heard the recent news of Gary's passing recently! We have many fond memories of his excellent sermons, steady leadership, and warm personality while serving at Pearce Memorial Free Methodist Church. You, Ellen were the quiet, supportive, wife, mother and grandmother with a twinkle of mischief in your eyes. It seems that in the PMFMC history your time of ministry may have been some of the "The Golden Years."

We especially recall Gary's work in establishing the business loans for entrepreneurial African women. What a wonderful idea and we hope it continues to the present!

You all will continue to be in our prayers and thoughts. Sincerely, David and Avis Barnes

We were both deeply shocked and saddened to learn of Gary’s passing. We so enjoyed our wonderful evenings at your home where we always had such great food and the most wonderful conversations! Message: Ellen, may the Lord you and Gary served with such humility
and excellence, be your support in this time of grief. I remember
being in your home, enjoying your hospitality in the days when
the B.C. churches were being graciously shepherded by Gary
and his team. I benefitted from Gary's good sermons and always
anticipated the next one. Yes he was one of those "generational"
leaders Gos raises up for an hour of challenge. Love, Sheldon and Naida.

Message: I worked with Gary Walsh when he was President of Opportunity International Canada. He was one of my favourite bosses ever and a man I deeply admire - an incredible storyteller, focused and high-functioning, yet always had time to talk. He was the first person to 'give me a break' after a long search for employment in Toronto, and I'll be forever grateful for that. "Oh how the mighty have fallen!"
