Passed away peacefully at the PEC Memorial Hospital, Picton 
on Monday, May 24th, 2021

BRIDGET TIBBETTS (nee Doherty)
In her 89th year



Beloved mother of Andrew Tibbetts and Julie (Keith) Forbes;
Grandmother of Fraser, Alice and Malcolm Tibbetts and mother-in-law of Lynne McNab;
Survived by her sister, May Phillips and her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Gillian Doherty;
predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Ken Smith, her brother-in-law, Ron Phillips,
as well as by her former spouse, Joseph Tibbetts, with whom she emigrated to Canada in 1968.
Loved by many nieces and nephews, having an especially close relationship with Debbie (Mark) Matthews
who came to visit her in Canada many times. 

Born in Liverpool, England, Bridie moved to Canada where she was a valued member of
several church communities where she loved to sing— St. Theresa’s in Geraldton, St. Gregory the Great in Picton,
and St. Frances of Rome in Wellington, the Belleville Choral Society and especially Wellington United Church.
Bridie loved nature and went for a long walk or bike ride almost every day becoming famous
around Wellington for her jaunty stride. Near the end of her life she was well-taken care of by H.J. McFarland Memorial Home
and Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital in Picton. 

Due to current gathering and travel restrictions, a celebration of life event will be held in the future.

where Bridie was treated several times for cancer and returned to full health.
