Swan, Barry

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dad,
Barry Herbert Swan
in his 70th year
on February 19th, 2019
at PEC Memorial Hospital, Picton

Barry is survived by his 4 daughters, Tanya (Kyle Fox), Tricia, Amanda (Brian Carroll) and Mariah (Ryan Dainard)
and his beloved and cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Olivia, Jackson, Hayden, Hayley, Hanna, Sofie and Ayvah.
Barry is the son the late John Herbert Robert William Swan and Jean Waples Swan.
He will be missed by his siblings, Brian Swan (Lois) and Brenda Swan (Paul Beaulac)
and his nieces and nephews Kevin Swan (Linda), Tim Swan (Robin), Tammy Oneill (Dan), Sheri Swan (Len Brunsdon)
and his great nieces and nephews.

Barry was a proud dad and Grampa and a dedicated business man over the years.
Barry moved to PEC in 1972 from Phelpston Ontario and made the County his home.
He started his business as a Potato Farmer in West Lake.  Barry built his trucking business
which is known as Barry Swan Transport.

Barry will be sadly missed for his sense of humour, his many "stories" that make him know as a 'Legend of PEC".
He is known for his knowledge of politics and trucking, and made many connections and friends
from all over the world and has touched so many people.
He had a love for the water, nature, gardening,"Swan Mountain" and Ostrander Point.
Barry was often known as "Swannie" or 'Big Bar".

Barry’s family would like to extend our warm thanks to the staff at Bayview Retirement home,
who provided dad with tremendous support and care over the past year and made him feel like he was "at home".
Many thanks to PECMH for the exceptional care they provided to dad over the last few months.

As per Barry's wishes cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held at the
Ainsworth Funeral Home,
288 Noxon Avenue, Wellington
on Friday, March 1stfrom 1-3 and 6-8 p.m.

As per dad’s request, a Celebration of Life has been arranged,
for his family and friends to share and to laugh at all the memories, and to raise a glass in his memory at
Huffs Winery Estate, 2274 County Road #1, Bloomfield
on Saturday, March 2ndfrom 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
