Davies, Hugh

HUGH ALLAN DAVIES
passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024
at Hospice Prince Edward
at the age of 80.

Beloved husband of Sandra Davies for 44 years.
Loving father of Sheri-Lynn O’Toole, Jodi Burgess (Jamie), and Brent.
Proud Grandfather to his 4 grandchildren Natalie, Gracie, Jared and Jaylynn.
Survived by his brother Michael Davies (Kathryn)and their children Megan, Joey and Allison.
Predeceased by his parents Hugh and Dorothy and his sister Heather Henry.

Fondly remembered by his many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Hugh spent his childhood in Northern Ontario/Quebec.  After joining the Navy, he graduated from the Arizona school of Horseshoeing.
By this time his family had relocated to Prince Edward County, Hugh moved to the County and became a successful farrier
and worked for Essroc.  He was a quiet man who preferred to not be the center of attention but enjoyed being with his family and having a cold beer with friends.  His love of horses was profound and is carried on through his legacy in his daughter Jodi and granddaughter Jaylynn.  In his later years he enjoyed woodworking at home and he preferred to give his creations away to his family and friends.

The family would like to thank the amazingly compassionate care team at Hospice Quinte.
And to Brad Gun for his amazing support with everything in Hugh’s last few days.

A celebration of life to honor Hugh will be held on
Saturday December 7th, 2024 from 1pm-3pm at the Demorestville Hall.
It will be a time for family and friends to come together to remember a very special man.
In Lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that donations be made in Hugh’s memory to Hospice Prince Edward.
