On September 2, 2023 we said goodbye to a beautiful, kind and loving soul.
Surrounded by her loving family,
Lydia Louise O’Donnell
wrote her final chapter in this life to surely begin another, yet to be read.
Louise was a devoted wife, caring sister, wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She lived her life to the fullest through her work, traveling the world, absorbing other cultures and shared her experiences by teaching. She conveyed an emotional litany of introspections and observations through her carefully selected words.
Creatively, her towering achievement was her Poetry. She was a Prize Winning poet, recognized by many
as the “Poet Laureate” of Prince Edward County. And read with the likes of Al Purdy.
She lived a life full of love, compassion, acceptance and creativity.
We will miss you beyond words but know your love and light will live on in our beautiful memories.
She is mourned by her loving husband, John, brothers Kenny, Ronny and the late Doug, sisters-in-law Mae and Leonne, children, Karen, Kevin, Kerry, son-in-law, Warren, Gord, daughter-in-law Anne, Len, daughter-in-law Cathy, stepson David, daughter-in-law Genevieve,
grandchildren, Jessie, Kail, Kori, Cody, Jake, Ava, Dash, Great Grandchildren, Bobby and Scarlett and each one of her nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to gather in a Celebration of Louise’s life
on Saturday, October 21st at the Hillier Hall, Hillier, ON from 1-5 p.m.
