Kirby, Janet

JANET MARION KIRBY
In her 74th year
After a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer,
Janet Marion Kirby
of Bloomfield passed away at PEC Memorial Hospital, Picton
on Saturday, February 12th, 2022.

Beloved wife of Paul Kirby.
Loving mother of Angela Kirby (Greg Cornell), Kristen Kirby, Candace Sallans (Carl Puffer).
Predeceased by her parents Bruce and Kathleen Monro brothers Wayne Monro, Rick Monro, Robert Monro
and sisters, Debbie VanHarlem, Sharon Lavender, Diane Fritz and Gail Wannamaker.
Fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Tyler Williamson (Leah), Keyes Williamson,
Nicholas Kirby-Palliser (Mikayla) and Brock Sallans, Elliot Puffer,  Lexxy Kasudluak, Arnaq Tukai, Sasha POV and
her great grandchildren, Davi Mae and Robert, many foster grandchildren
as well as her sister-in-law Lou-Ann Monro and many nieces and nephews.

Janet grew up in Wellington on the family farm and moved to Bloomfield when she married her husband Paul of 50 years.
She worked for a time at PECMH and then chose to stay home and babysit others children while her own were growing up.
Later in life when Paul retired, she returned to work for a time at Townline Farms, she would say to keep her sanity.

Janet was a strong-willed woman who never complained. She enjoyed her life by spending time with family,
Saturday Nights at the racetrack where she and Paul were season ticket holders,
the chaos of grandkids and great grandkids and being an instigator and fan of local hockey
where she could be found watching her grandchildren.
She was quick witted and always had a smart remark or come back.
She took pride in baking a birthday cake for each of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids,
many times 2 cakes for each birthday.  Her angel food and fresh chocolate cakes will be missed.

Cremation has taken place.
Due to Covid restrictions, the family will announce
arrangements at a later date.
