William, Smellie

William Edward Smellie

Passed away peacefully at home on February 15th, 2025,
at the age of 79 with his wife by his side.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife Libby, and sons George (Amy), and Robert (Slava).
He will be fondly remembered by his extended family and friends.

Born in Toronto, Bill moved to Picton, Ontario in 2006 where he enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of his home,
nature, and lakeside beaches. Bill's greatest loves were spending time with his family travelling, preparing meals,
and playing cards.  Over the years he and Libby traveled to Great Britain, Bahamas, Florida, Maine, Victoria and Nova Scotia,
also to Las Vegas with George & Amy.

Bill proudly shared his knowledge of computers and home repair. His ability and knowledge of construction was inspired by
the building of the family cottage in his teens. He also inspired his sons to take a hands-on approach to everyday tasks in life.

He enjoyed playing tennis with the members of the Bloomfield Tennis Club which he founded and ran for several years,
and badminton and golf with his sons.
His endearing smile and sense of humour will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to the PECMH ‘Back to the Build’ or the Loyalist Humane Society.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date this year.

Arrangements in the care of the
