VERNON (Verne) ANTHONY GOLDEN

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our loved one
Verne Golden
(owner of Golden’s Trucking)
on Friday January 10th, 2025 at his home in Roslin at the age of 75.

He found his greatest happiness with his partner and best friend Amber.
She was by his side from the beginning of his diagnosis with ALS just a few short months ago.
They shared many wonderful times together. He is survived by his son Robert (Bob) Golden of New Brunswick, Justin Golden (deceased), siblings Vincent (Diane) Golden, Lorraine Flooks (Shane), Jim Golden (deceased) (Barb) and Elaine Bertrim.

The support and unwavering love given by his niece Dr. Tina Adam of Hamilton who was instrumental in working with all the professionals making sure her Uncle Verne had every opportunity to have the equipment and resources needed which allowed him to stay at home.

Verne was a dear and special uncle to many. He always welcomed and enjoyed the time that he could share some special moments with them. He leaves behind a large family of cousins and always made an effort to attend their many family functions.
His life was filled with so many wonderful friends and family who were there for him when he needed them the most.

A special thanks to his extended family Jeff, Ben and Carter Russett. We couldn’t have done this without them. Verne’s life was defined by his passion for helping others, his incredible sense of humor, his laughter and his love of playing poker and guitar. He took pride in everything he did and was happy with even some of the smallest pleasures that life had to offer.

Our family has lost an amazing man. Though we deeply miss his presence, we are at peace knowing he is no longer suffering. Special thanks to the many professional people who assisted in making his life as comfortable as possible during his time at home.
Karen Taylor – Quinte Rehab District, Amber Babcock, N.P., Palliative Care Nurses Jennifer and Allison of Bayshore Health Care, InspiAIR , Sunnybrook Hospital, Paramed and the ALS Society.

Arrangements have been made through
Ainsworth Funeral Home, 288 Noxon Avenue, Wellington and cremation has taken place by Elmwood Crematorium.

A Celebration of Life Well Lived will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers if desired, donations to the ALS Society or the Charity of your choice
would be much appreciated by the family.
