In memory of: Garth Manning QC Message: Dear Linda, I just learned about Garth's passing. Libby joins me in expressing our heartfelt condolences to you and Garth's family. We hope that memories and Garth's many accomplishments sustain you during these difficult days. I will never forget Garth's important role in my path to leadership in the Ontario Bar Association. It was Garth who, as Chair of the CLE Committee, invited me to be a member in 1982 --- Wow! 37 years ago. I have many fond memories of Garth at Bar Association meetings, pipe in hand, listening attentively and then offering wise counsel. I also remember that it was Garth who first informed me of my election as CBAO VP in August 1993. He was very surprised at the result (given that Michelle Fuerst and Don Short were the other candidates) but he was always gracious and helpful to me during my presidency. He was an able, accomplished leader and a gentleman. He will not be forgotten. Unfortunately, we will be away in September and unable to attend.

In memory of: Garth Message: Linda My thoughts are with you and the family. Garth as you know was a constant gentleman through and through and looked upon as a senior statesman in the legal arena to be recognized. I am so glad to have got to know him and witness him at work especially on the Real Property Section Executive at what is now called the OBA , As someone once said, “If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu”. Let it never be said that Garth was on the menu! He contributed so much to OBA through his skills, leadership and mentorship as well as his many other pursuits such as the hospital to ensure that needed resources are delivered and the needs of community safeguarded. He has left a legacy for others to emulate due to your special partnership and support. He will be missed. See you September 14,2019 for his celebration of life.
