In memory of: Rev, Robert C. Jones.
Message: To the Jones family,
It was a great privilege to have connected with all of you in the early 1980s (and Rev. Anne-Marie, in more recent times!) during my time in leadership in the Synod PYPS (Presbyterian Young People's Society), and at this time of year for the PYPS Thanksgiving Conventions. In 1980, to kick off that decade with Bob as a Theme Speaker for the weekend, held in beautiful downtown Peterborough. THEN, 4 years later, as hosts of our gathering, FOUR DECADES AGO next month at The Church of the Redeemer in Deseronto. It was interesting that a day after hearing of Bob's passing, that I was with the very speaker of that weekend, the fellow he told the congregation and Convention delegates, who would be one of the PCC's future academic leaders (Rev. Dr. Principal [x 2] John Vissers). Would we call his welcome to Rev. Vissers a Prophecy??
In later years, as a Representative Elder, I would meet Bob at Synods or General Assemblies, always with a warm smile, and not having to look at my nametag to identify me!
Thanks for your parts in sharing him with your congregations, but also beyond, and for the wisdom imparted in our Thanksgiving gatherings!
