Message: Art, You were always a generous and thoughtful host.
We hade a great outing the day I brought my metal detector to Wellington. Didn' find gold but the memory is just as valuable.
You also made sure we visited brew pubs for me and not just wineries.
You proved to me you're never to old to get in trouble when we took my SUV down the muddiest roads around and got it so dirty had to powerwash it before the ladies could get out.
Most people would be surprised to know that back when you were the bank manager you also had the responsibility of warding off robbers with the revolver in your desk, fortunately never used.
Eternally calm and cheerful. Loved and respected by all.
A great example of a life lived fully by any measurement.

Message: Uncle Art......I can't believe you are gone. Just a few short months ago we were planning to meet for lunch but we had to postpone as you had just received your diagnosis. I hate that I never got to see you one last time but I am comforted knowing that I have wonderful memories of you and my moms stories of your childhood growing up. Like putting feathers on her eyes while she was sleeping and when she woke up the feathers were stuck and she to this day is terrified of feathers and birds hahaha thank you for giving me that to tease her with! I know my mum loves you so very much and she was absolutely devastated when she got the email that you had passed. You were her big bro and she feels very alone now but we will take good care of her and we will always love you and think of you. Thank you so much for being an amazing uncle, I know I live far away and we couldn't be super close, I always felt connected to you and that will never change. You are always in my heart. Now you are with uncle Steve and grandma and grampa and aunt Betty, say hi to all of them for me and tell them that I love them too. Rest in paradise uncle, I love you.
