In memory of: Joe Gillis
Message: Rosemary - while I didn't know Joe all that well (nor you actually!) but from afar, the two of you clearly enjoyed a very loving and respectful business and personal relationship. And were able to manage that business while enjoying much travel along the way. From my days of growing up in Picton - I vividly remember handsome (and quiet) Joe alongside a much more vocal Herb and Jamie Bovay? Joe was quite a 'catch' and well, you were the lucky one! I never met son Chris but he is very fortunate to have the two of you as parents.

I understand from Shirley you have been a constant by Joe's side throughout his health journey and do hope you both had some special time together these past few months. You are in my thoughts Rosemary and Chris. Hugs to you both, Lynn

Message: Rosie. Since learning of Joe's passing, a couple of days ago, my mind has been flooded with the fondest memories of yourself and Joe from our University days that brought on smiles, laughter and sometimes left me shaking my head. That is how I will continue to remember Joe. There were many years there where I can say you and Joe were my dearest friends. I truly loved that guy, however, to onlookers, our expression of that affection towards each other would appear somewhat questionable (right now I am smiling and yes, the head shaking). Life kept us apart but we never grew apart. Over the years our friendship took over where we left off and although it has been a long while, I always thought about Joe and yourself and knew in my heart our paths would eventually cross again. Now the realization that reunion will be without Joe leaves my eyes filled with tears. Rosie you have shared your life with an amazing husband, friend and father. I am sending the biggest hug one can muster over cyber space.

My deepest condolences to Chris and to Joe's sisters and and brothers.

Message: Rosemary and Chris, There just really are no words for when a great guy like Joe is taken far too soon. I felt such a sadness when learning of his passing. Joe always had a great smile and such a friendly manner. I know your hearts must feel empty but I hope you will take great comfort in knowing Joe was truly one of the really ‘good’ guys- a very special quality. Everyone who knew Joe spoke so highly of him. I think the Universe shines a bit brighter now with Joe’s presence. My sincere and heartfelt Sympathy Rosemary. Beckie.
