Hofford, Karen


Karen Marie Hofford
(nee Lane)
Passed away with family by her side at Hospice Prince Edward
on June 15th, 2023
At the age of 77
Beloved wife for 39 years of Murray Hofford
Daughter of the late William and Marie Lane.  Sister of Ken Lane(Gary Routliffe).  
Sister-in law of the late Jim (Erma), the late Ian (Cathy), Bruce (the late Joanne), Judith (the late Bob) Lambert, Richard (Nancy).  
Will be greatly missed by numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, and great-great  nephews and nieces
and many Danish cousins.

Karen moved from Ottawa, her place of birth in 1975 to Prince Edward Heights where she used her tremendous talents
as a Recreational Therapist until her retirement in 1999. Her spirit and character livened up the lives of her colleagues
and clients whom were always held in great esteem by Karen.  
In retirement she continued to display her talents gardening, scrapbooking and crafting.
She will be missed by all of her many friends and neighbours.


Murray would like to extend a special thank you to: Kingston Cancer Clinic, Staffs at Trenton, Picton and Belleville Hospitals,
Wellington Pharmacy, Drs. Levesque and Nancekievill, Amber Glasspoole and Hospice Prince Edward for their wonderful care of Karen. Thank you also to Tod Lavender of Ainsworth Funeral Home, neighbours, friends and numerous family members for their generous support during a difficult time.

As per Karen’s wishes cremation has taken place and
friends are invited to gather with the family to celebrate Karen's life  at the 

Wellington and District Community Centre.  111 Belleville St., Wellington, ON
on Friday, August 4th from 1-3 p.m.  
Remembrances will be shared at 1:00.  Followed by refreshments and a time to visit with the family.
