Ellis, Laura

Laura Shirley Ellis (nee Willis)
1932 - 2020 
succumbed to dementia on March 4th, 2020
at West Lake Terrace Nursing Home, Picton
 
She has joined all of her siblings Gorden, Alfred, Mable, Francis, May, Clara and Joy 
and her son, Randy.  

She was born in Sudbury and moved to Belleville when a teenager to work at Bell Shirt.  
Through a friend, she met Ray, married and became a farmer’s wife on what is now Danforth Road.
They moved to Wellington once Ray was employed as a truck driver.
She became a stay at home mom, then worked a few years at the Campbell Soup Mushroom Plant. 

Laura travelled with Ray to the West coast, Florida, Virginia, and the East Coast. 
She enjoyed her Tuesday afternoons with the coffee ladies.

Leaving to mourn her is Raymond, her husband of 68 years,
and their daughter Sharon (Jim) Dempsey. 
 
Her Grandchildren, Halisha (Pat), Christopher, Kailey (Rob), Mekenzie (Ron), Jared (Sol)
and great grandchildren, Kirsten, Zachary, Avaley, Chase, Brayson, Ezri, Niko, Gavin, Penelope, Lenna, and Jesse. 

 She has many nieces and nephews that will surely miss her.
She will be remembered by step-grandson John Dempsey (Monique and family, Tomas,
Sarah, Marc and Rebecca).
Of course, we cannot forget her fur baby, Maggie. 
Special thanks to the caring family at West Lake Terrace, Paramed’s PSW’s, VON Smile program, CCAC.

Friends may gather to visit with the family at the 
AINSWORTH FUNERAL HOME, 
288 NOXON AVENUE, WELLINGTON 
on Sunday, March 8th from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Remembrances of Laura to be shared at 2:00 p.m.
