Hayes, Michael

Michael  Rex Hayes
Passed away at home with his family by his side
on Monday, October 29th, 2018
at the age of 63

Beloved husband of 43 years to his wife and best friend, Patricia. 
Loving father to Mike(Lauren) and Shaun(Nicole),
and proud Poppy to his treasured and much loved grandchildren
Noelle, Braeden, Julia and Malik. 

Mike loved his family with all his heart and soul and we will miss him desperately.  
He is survived by his mother Audrey Margaret Hayes, sisters Lesley Yue, Lynne Ogilvie (John),
Kelly Bolstad (Gord), and  brothers David  Hayes (Suzanne) and Shane Hayes. 
Predeceased by his father Albert Charles Rex Hayes and in-laws Paul and Dilys Bohnet.

He was a dedicated and caring husband, father and Poppy to his family
and had a successful career as a Senior Vice President at Scotiabank. 
He enjoyed gardening and golfing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. 
He had challenges with cancer for the last 32 years that he faced with strength, fortitude and dignity. 

Many thanks to Drs. Rajiv Singal, Danny Vesprini and Peter Ferguson for their years of care
and to the Quinte Health Belleville ICU nurses and doctors.  Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Norma Charriere
and Heather Campbell for their care and support of Mike’s palliative care.

A Memorial Service will be held on
Saturday, November 10th at 11:00 a.m.
at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 244 Main Street, Wellington

In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully appreciated to the
PEC Memorial Hospital Foundation.
