Message: We are so sad to learn of John's death. We feel very privileged to have known John, for short time we did.... His knowledge, passion and creativity was second to none. He brought much joy to the many people who were lucky enough to have one of his carved birds or animals. His enthusiasm was infectious. Whether a small Christmas tree or a carved Loon, John will certainly be remembered as an outstanding artisan. We, and the whole staff at The Local Store, will miss him greatly. Janice & Gary Scharf & Elizabeth Bygrave.... and staff ( Lyne Lusk, Sarah Lawlor, Janet Mooney, Maureen Robinson, Micheline Cox, Sharron Hewer, Francine Blais).

We have many fond memories of him from the Gold Medal Club and spirited discussions about his woodworking - we have 2 of his beautiful carvings prominently displayed in our home. He always had a wonderful smile and a cheerful greeting for us. We hope that the good memories of your life together will sustain you in the coming months.

Message: Dear Phyllis and family,

Our sincere condolences on the loss of John. I had the pleasure of meeting John several times in several different situations and the person I will always remember is a kind, generous family man with a strong dedication to his carving hobby. We are one of the families who are fortunate enough to have some of John’s work in our home and will always treasure it. You are in our thoughts at this time and always. Walt and Carole

Message: To :Phyllis, Kathy, Amy, John and family. Please accept our condolences for your loss of a very special husband and father.
To : John senior, thanks for hiring me at Canox and being a valuable mentor to me in business as well as my personal life. You would be happy to hear that Jean and I just came back last week from a visit to Scotland and had the chance to visit the Orkney’s which I believe you once told me your ancestors hailed from. John, I hope there is another side, if so, I’ll look you up and we can reminisce over the good times. May God bless you. Andy and Jean Pepin
