Flo Cooper and I took meals to Harold for years. Since I lived on a farm , he and I had wonderful discussions. He always wanted to know what was happening on our farm --- planting, harvest, drought and too much rain--- so I thought ahead to tell him. One time we talked about some of the cattle buyers that used to come to the farms to buy cattle for export. Harold commented that Izzy Steen only visited the better herds so he thought we must have had a good herd. Izzy bought cattle at his farm.
When his wife Kathleen was alive but in her final days, we were afraid that Harold would wear himself out. He was so concerned about her. He seemed to pick up for awhile after that.
If we ever get "hired " back by Community Care ( we are both seniors so had to quit delivering in late March and we miss it and the people we got to know ) we'll think of Harold and our many chats as we drive by.
